THE PIANIST
Tom first started in the 1960s as a young organist finding his way through the Blues/Jazz/Funk scene. After a brief stint in Macon, Georgia (which Tom credits with making a dramatic change in his life), Tom picked up and headed out with the mighty Wayne Cochran and his CC Riders. They toured for years all across the United States until the 70s, when a still-young Becker joined up with bands such as Granny’s Bathwater, and others…

The great Kenny Drew, Jr. was a virtuoso and a true genius on the piano. Before he passed away in August of 2014, he recorded a collection of his close friend, Tom Becker’s songs. This recording is available now and proceeds go to the Kenny Drew, Jr. Foundation at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
