GRANNY’S BATHWATER

“WE GOT TO LIVE TOGETHER”

In the early ’70s, the backing band for Martha Reeves would sometimes get together between national tours to play under the dubious name “Granny’s Bathwater.”  They would bring their special kind of funk to New Orleans and this cut was recorded at the Ivanhoe on Bourbon Street as part of the live album “Dig It Or Book”.  Here, Tom is on his B3 and tearing it up.

TOM BECKER SOLO PIANO

“TURN OUT THE STARS”

In the summer of 2000, Tom was busy playing nearly every night in some venue or another and his circuit took him to Springfield, Missouri.  At Ellis Hall in Missouri State University, he sat down at a lovely grand piano and played this beautiful rendition of the Bill Evans classic, “Turn Out The Stars”.

TOM BECKER SOLO PIANO

“CARAVAN”

Another classic from that same recording in Missouri, “Caravan”.  Here, Tom let’s the left hand lead through the quick step on a traveling adventure that will leave you breathless.

Below you’ll find a mp3 sampler of the album “The Kenny Drew, Jr. Trio Plays The Music Of Tom Becker”.
